Emergency Relief Operations

A Country at Risk
The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, highly vulnerable to both climate-related hazards and earthquakes. Impacted by an average of 20 typhoons each year and situated along the Pacific Ring of Fire, the country regularly faces destructive storms, floods, volcanic eruptions, and seismic events. The onslaught of these disasters has unjustly claimed thousands of lives, homes, and livelihoods year after year, with many communities experiencing repeated cycles of devastation and recovery
Through CORA’s network of emergency response partners, we are able to reach some of the most heavily impacted communities that are in urgent need of support. From the most basic of needs, to mangrove seedlings for long-term protection, to providing solar power for off-the-grid and island communities, CORA’s programs place the plight of people and the planet at the core of every mission.
A little goes a long way, and we are grateful for any support provided.

Mindanao Earthquake
A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines last June 8, 2026. Lives lost, thousands displaced, and hospitals damaged. Continuous aftershocks and blocked roads are slowing down rescue operations, leaving hard-hit areas inaccessible. They need our help.
CORA is accepting donations to provide immediate relief to impacted families and communities. Through our #CORACares Relief Operations, your generosity will go directly toward on-the-ground support for those who need help the most.
Together, we make things possible.

What else can we do?

1
Advocate for nature-based solutions.
Techniques such as river re-meandering, reforestation, terracing, and the restoration of mangrove ecosystems can mitigate the impacts of these disasters.
2
Individual actions have big impact.
By committing to a sustainable lifestyle—such as adopting zero-waste practices, reducing single-use plastics, and embracing renewable energy—each person can significantly contribute to reducing emissions.
3
The right leaders make all the difference.
Leaders focusing on long-term climate action, urban planning, and flood management can drive transformative change. Supporting sustainable development, disaster risk reduction, and environmental protection leads to a resilient and climate-adaptive future.
